Vice President of Sales

About the role:

This full-time role reports to the Chief Executive Officer. If you have experience in developing relationships, owning and closing large, strategic urban district accounts, building and managing a team from the ground up, and helping a mission-driven company better serve students and families in public schools, this job is for you.

As an integral member of our team, you’ll work closely with our leadership to develop and execute on a national sales strategy that puts Kinvolved’s software and services into school districts across the country. This role builds upon Kinvolved’s early successes in ten states, including several large, urban accounts, such as the NYCDOE.

You will be responsible for owning your own strategic accounts, and developing and leading a growing sales team in promoting our solutions to district leaders, amplifying the story of our success improving family engagement and reducing chronic absenteeism, and being the face of Kinvolved at regional and national engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Close, and Manage Large District Sales opportunities:
    • Develop and sell large, six-figure, multi-year district accounts with complex relationships with superintendents and their cabinets
    • Within a year, build a seven-figure unweighted sales pipeline
    • Be the face of the company at national events, presentations, and district meetings, while supporting regional team members at key events and meetings
  • District Partnerships team development, management, and support:
    • With CEO, establish national strategy for achieving company revenue goals, focusing on new business development opportunities
    • Recruit, coach, and manage small and growing national District Partnerships Team

Required experience and abilities:

  • Minimum seven years of sales experience, including at least five years in sales management
  • History carrying a quota in K–12 district sales of at least $1M in annual license revenue
  • Experience building a sales team
  • Ability to travel 50%+ of work time, including evenings and weekends when needed
  • Sales CRM knowledge and comfortability

Director of Engineering

As a senior member of our team, you will be critical in leading strategy on a system that impacts thousands of teachers, students, and parents. We will collaborate on roadmapping, designing, and architecture. As our team grows your leadership and experience will be essential in ensuring that we maintain a healthy technology solution as well as a strong engineering culture. 

We would like you to: 

  • Lead Kinvolved’s technical strategy, in close collaboration with product and business leads and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Lead our engineering team, including guiding our current offshore team and building a local team.
  • Drive the architecture and development of systems to handle rapid growth and scaling including managing cost and business level tradeoffs.
  • Drive the transition of complex manual processes to automated processes.

Qualities/experience needed: 

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams for 5-8 years 
  • Experience collaborating with offshore engineering teams
  • Proven track record of close collaboration with product and business leads to form strategy, roadmaps, and features
  • Proven experience building scalable data applications and reliable interactive and messaging applications
  • Experience with security and hosting using Amazon Web Services
  • Comfortable working in a domain with lots of detail and managing client specific requirements
  • Bonus points: Experience working in education technology

Director of District Partnerships, Midwest, Northeast, Northwest Regions

We do this by providing tailored professional learning services, and an all-in-one communications app called KiNVO™. 

About the role:

As an integral member of our team, you’ll work closely with our leadership to develop and execute on a district sales strategy that puts Kinvolved’s software and services into school districts across the southeast. Building upon Kinvolved’s early successes in ten states nationwide, you will be responsible for promoting our solutions to district leaders in your region, amplifying the story of our success improving family engagement and reducing chronic absenteeism, and being the face of Kinvolved in the region. 

You will be given a modest marketing budget for attending district relationship-building events in your territory.

Responsibilities: 

  • Territory pipeline qualification and development
    • Within a year, build a six-figure unweighted sales pipeline
    • Establishing a base in and near states where Kinvolved has a modest volume of existing customers 
    • Be the face of the company at regional events, presentations, and district meetings
  • Pipeline management: 
    • Prepare and maintain a regional sales pipeline via the HubSpot CRM for weekly team meetings, semi-quarterly leadership meetings, and quarterly board meetings
    • Support RFP coordination and submission for deals in your territory
    • Manage sales from quote to close
    • Own, distribute, and track progress on all inbound sales leads

Required experience and abilities:

  • Carrying a quota in K–12 district sales of at least $1M in annual license revenue
  • Sales CRM knowledge and comfortability
  • Ability to travel 50–75% of work time, including evenings and weekends when needed

School Training Associate

School Training Associate (Contractor)

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role supports client trainings for a growing education technology company. The contractor will provide in-person, school-based trainings for New York City schools.

This is a great opportunity for anyone planning to work in education, education technology, or professional services, as well as for anyone interested in training educators and administrators.

You’re a good fit if you:

  • Love teaching educators and administrators how to use technology

  • Would like to lend your experience toward social good

This is a contracted role, and you will need to be available on demand to provide school-based trainings across the five boroughs of the New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person trainings for educators and administrators
  • Teach educators and administrators how to use KiNVO, Kinvolved’s web and mobile app
  • Support educators and administrators in strategic KiNVO implementations, in alignment with Kinvolved’s curriculum on family engagement and attendance improvement
  • Gather and report feedback collected during trainings

Qualities and qualifications

  • Ability to work one-on-one with educators and administrators
  • Ability to deliver a presentation in front of a large group of people
  • Previous experience in education

Contracting period: As needed by the company, from January through June 2019. This contractor role may extend to the 2019–2020 school year, with room for potential full-time employment and growth.

Compensation: Hourly rate for travel and trainings.
