About the Role

This full-time role, which reports to the Chief Product Officer, is perfect for someone comfortable working hand-in-hand with our district leaders and users. If you enjoy collaboration and relationship development, you will excel in this role.

  • Relationship Management
      • Build and maintain relationships with district-level leaders (Superintendent, Chief of Staff, and other critical roles)
      • Manage school-level relationships to drive KiNVO uptake, utilization, and impact  
  • Software Implementation and Ongoing Client Management
      • Coach at the district level to create vision and plan for KiNVO use
      • Lead in-person KiNVO implementation and training
      • Evaluate training practices and provide recommendations to drive efficiency and cost savings
  • Client Renewal and Growth Activities
    • Grow positive relationships with district-level and school-level leaders to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
    • Present regular impact metrics to districts to support Kinvolved’s efficacy
    • Collaborate with sales team and identify expanded service delivery opportunities  
    • Renew annual contracts with districts and source geographically proximate new partners

We’d like you to have …

  • Former K–12 experience (2+ years)

Director of Marketing

About the role:
This full-time role reports to the Chief Executive Officer. If you like developing brand strategy,  executing on a range of marketing activities, and collaborating with multiple departments, this job is ideal for you.

As an integral member of our team, you’ll work to develop and execute on a school and district marketing strategy, support the partnerships team by delivering qualified leads, manage press and media engagement, establish product awareness with the client success team, create brand awareness, and execute the company’s presence at events. You’ll have exposure to nearly all areas of the company as you put your storytelling and execution skills to work across departments.

Role responsibilities: 

  • Marketing Strategy and Execution
    • Execute Kinvolved’s existing marketing strategy
    • Develop and execute Kinvolved’s future marketing strategy based on the company’s goals and K–12 buying cycle
    • Further develop and optimize the marketing funnel in Hubspot
    • Execute demand generation campaigns across Kinvolved’s channels, from storyline and messaging development to strategic cohort segmentation and optimized deployment
    • Develop and maintain strong messaging that positions Kinvolved as a leader in the K–12 marketplace
    • Provide a critical marketing lens for senior leadership to support organization decisions and planning
  • Sales Support
    • Partner with the sales team to prioritize regions of interest and utilize a “lighthouse” strategy to grow traction within those regions
    • Partner with the sales team to understand their needs, then create, curate, and evolve marketing assets to be effective pre- and post-sale tools
  • Press and Media
    • Manage all media relationships and regularly strive to secure positive pieces through an external public relations team
    • Develop communications plans for significant organization announcements including press releases, talking points, and schedules
    • Utilize strategic regional and national stories to build brand awareness and position Kinvolved as a leader in the K–12 marketplace
  • Brand Stewardship
    • Maintain the brand of Kinvolved including visual style, written tone, and general aesthetic
    • Ensure all marketing materials are branded appropriately so that the company has a consistent presence across all channels
  • Product Storytelling
    • Leverage educator voices to help position the unique selling points of each product in the Kinvolved portfolio
    • Create strong case studies that highlight educator voices and student outcomes to use as marketing collateral
  • Events and Conferences
    • Oversee the planning and execution Kinvolved’s presence at key K–12 conferences
    • Support the partnerships team with marketing collateral for other events

Qualities/experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing
  • 3+ years of experience in education and/or educational technology
  • Experience as an educator
  • Familiarity with Hubspot, WordPress, and Gdrive [any other platforms you use]

Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations

About the role:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations (SVP) will be responsible for the development of Kinvolved’s financial management strategy and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic business goals. In addition to the strategic components, the SVP will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures both in the finance and general operational realms. This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance executive with operational experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management to join the leadership team of a  high-growth, mission-driven organization.

Role responsibilities: 

Strategy, Vision, and Leadership

  • Lead and conduct financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters, collaborating with the CEO and key senior managers to make key decisions.
  • Serve as the management and finance liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic business goals and objectives, as well as the overall management of the organization.
  • Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in fiscal negotiations.
  • Support CEO in future equity and fundraising activities.

Team Development and Leadership

Operations

  • Provide analytical support to internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities.
  • Improve administrative and operational accounting services such as cash flow management, accounts receivable, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.

Qualities and experience: 

  • Business or accounting degree mandatory; MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5–7+ years experience in a senior management role ideally with audit, fundraising, and in-house financial management experience 
  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization

Director of Engineering

As a senior member of our team, you will be critical in leading strategy on a system that impacts thousands of teachers, students, and parents. We will collaborate on roadmapping, designing, and architecture. As our team grows your leadership and experience will be essential in ensuring that we maintain a healthy technology solution as well as a strong engineering culture.

  • Lead Kinvolved’s technical strategy, in close collaboration with product and business leads and contribute to the overall business strategy.

School Training Associate

School Training Associate (Contractor)

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role supports client trainings for a growing education technology company. The contractor will provide in-person, school-based trainings for New York City schools.

This is a great opportunity for anyone planning to work in education, education technology, or professional services, as well as for anyone interested in training educators and administrators.

You’re a good fit if you:

  • Love teaching educators and administrators how to use technology

This is a contracted role, and you will need to be available on demand to provide school-based trainings across the five boroughs of the New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person trainings for educators and administrators
  • Teach educators and administrators how to use KiNVO, Kinvolved’s web and mobile app
  • Support educators and administrators in strategic KiNVO implementations, in alignment with Kinvolved’s curriculum on family engagement and attendance improvement
  • Gather and report feedback collected during trainings

Contracting period: As needed by the company, from January through June 2019. This contractor role may extend to the 2019–2020 school year, with room for potential full-time employment and growth.
