Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations

About the role:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations (SVP) will be responsible for the development of Kinvolved’s financial management strategy and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic business goals. In addition to the strategic components, the SVP will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures both in the finance and general operational realms. This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance executive with operational experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management to join the leadership team of a  high-growth, mission-driven organization.

Role responsibilities: 

Strategy, Vision, and Leadership

  • Lead and conduct financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters, collaborating with the CEO and key senior managers to make key decisions.
  • Serve as the management and finance liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic business goals and objectives, as well as the overall management of the organization.
  • Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in fiscal negotiations.
  • Support CEO in future equity and fundraising activities.

Team Development and Leadership

  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
  • In coordination with leadership team, set objectives, establish priorities, direct semi-annual performance reviews, and advise on salary adjustments.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and departmental goals.
  • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of an outsourced finance and human resources team.

Operations

  • Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual and auditing budget processes. 
  • Provide analytical support to internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities.
  • Improve administrative and operational accounting services such as cash flow management, accounts receivable, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.

Qualities and experience: 

  • Business or accounting degree mandatory; MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5–7+ years experience in a senior management role ideally with audit, fundraising, and in-house financial management experience 
  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
  • Interested in growing into a potential C-level position
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution

Vice President of Business Development

This full-time role reports to the Chief Executive Officer. If you like closing deals, developing relationships, building and managing sales territories and teams, and helping a mission-driven company better serve students and families in public schools, this job is for you!

As an integral member of our team, you’ll work closely with our leadership to develop and execute on a national sales strategy that puts Kinvolved’s software and services into school districts across the country. Building upon Kinvolved’s early successes in ten states nationwide, you will be responsible for leading a growing sales team  in promoting our solutions to district leaders, amplifying the story of our success improving family engagement and reducing chronic absenteeism, and being the face of Kinvolved at national engagements. 

Responsibilities: 

  • District Partnerships team development, management, and support:
    • Establish national strategy for achieving company revenue goals, focusing on new business development opportunities
    • Oversee execution of regional district partnership strategies
    • Recruit, coach, and manage small and growing national team of District Partnership Directors 
  • Pipeline development:
    • Within a year, build a seven-figure unweighted sales pipeline
    • Be the face of the company at national events, presentations, and district meetings, while supporting regional team members in key events and meetings
  • Pipeline management: 
    • Lead weekly partnerships team meetings, participate in semi-quarterly leadership meetings, and quarterly board meetings to report on progress toward revenue goal
    • Manage specific, large sales from quote to close

Required experience and abilities:

  • Minimum five years of sales experience, including at least two years in sales management
  • Carrying a quota in K–12 district sales of at least $1M in annual license revenue
  • Sales team management experience and track record of success
  • Sales CRM knowledge and comfortability
  • Ability to travel 50%+ of work time, including evenings and weekends when needed

Director of Engineering

You will be given a modest marketing budget for attending district relationship-building events in your territory.

Responsibilities: 

  • Territory pipeline qualification and development
      • Within a year, build a six-figure unweighted sales pipeline
      • Establishing a base in and near states where Kinvolved has a modest volume of existing customers 
      • Be the face of the company at regional events, presentations, and district meetings
  • Pipeline management: 
    • Prepare and maintain a regional sales pipeline via the HubSpot CRM for weekly team meetings, semi-quarterly leadership meetings, and quarterly board meetings
    • Support RFP coordination and submission for deals in your territory
    • Manage sales from quote to close
    • Own, distribute, and track progress on all inbound sales leads

Required experience and abilities:

K-12 District Success Manager

About the Role

This full-time role, which reports to the Chief Product Officer, is perfect for someone comfortable working hand-in-hand with our district leaders and users. If you enjoy creative problem-solving, training educators on how to use technology, and relationship development, you will excel in this role. 

You will be primarily responsible to our national district satisfaction to ensure annual renewal of our software and professional development and training services. 

  • Software Training and User Engagement 
    • Provide in-person training to schools and school districts, nationwide
    • Facilitate training webinars to support continued skill development 
    • Execute monthly client engagement campaigns via email and phone
  • Relationship and Client Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with district-level and school-level leaders 
    • Manage school-level relationships to drive KiNVO uptake, utilization, and impact 
    • Conduct regular phone and video call check ins to answer client questions and collect product feedback  
  • Client Renewal and Growth Activities 
    • Grow positive relationships with district-level and school-level leaders to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction 
    • Present regular impact metrics to districts to support Kinvolved’s efficacy
    • Collaborate with sales team and identify expanded service delivery opportunities and renewal opportunities 

We’d strongly prefer you to have … 

  • Former K–12 experience (2+ years)
  • Former client, account management, and/or education sales experience (3+ years)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and an eye for detail

School Training Associate

School Training Associate (Contractor)

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role supports client trainings for a growing education technology company. The contractor will provide in-person, school-based trainings for New York City schools.

This is a great opportunity for anyone planning to work in education, education technology, or professional services, as well as for anyone interested in training educators and administrators.

You’re a good fit if you:

  • Love teaching educators and administrators how to use technology

This is a contracted role, and you will need to be available on demand to provide school-based trainings across the five boroughs of the New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person trainings for educators and administrators
  • Teach educators and administrators how to use KiNVO, Kinvolved’s web and mobile app
  • Support educators and administrators in strategic KiNVO implementations, in alignment with Kinvolved’s curriculum on family engagement and attendance improvement
  • Gather and report feedback collected during trainings
